Summer Program 2010

Skills & Drills Sessions (1 hour each) – Available to all players

Skill & drills sessions will consist of a variety of stations designed to work on players’ fundamentals. Stations will consist of ball handling, rebounding, passing, shooting, defense, individual offensive skills (low post & perimeter) and more!

 

Summer League – Available to all players

Players will have 1-2 games a week at local gyms. Bobcats teams will be provided with a qualified coach and will be entered in the “AAU Division” to ensure appropriate competition. This will also help to eliminate conflicts with town travel programs, allowing players to play on both teams.

 

Day Camp (9:00-12:00 @ Reading High School) – Available only for players entering grades 4-7

The day camp is a comprehensive five-day clinic where campers will learn the basic fundamentals of basketball. The camp will feature guest speakers, games, activities and prizes that will actively involve each camper. Players will be provided with drills that can be worked on at home to improve individual skills. We strive for campers to achieve excellence in the following areas:

  • Shooting fundamentals
  • Passing
  • Rebounding techniques
  • Defense (both individual & team)
  • Teamwork and team play

 *All campers will receive a t-shirt for participation in the camp. Additionally, at the end of the week there will be an awards assembly in which campers could earn various awards for their performance throughout the camp.

 

Conditioning Workouts (1 hour each) – Available only for players entering grades 8-12

One-hour conditioning workouts are designed to improve:

  • Conditioning
  • Stamina
  • Agility
  • Quickness
  • Speed
  • Footwork
  • Strength

This program is designed for serious athletes who want to take their games to the next level. Perfect for players transitioning from middle school to high school or players wanting to take the next step and contribute at the varsity level.

 

Open Gym (1.5 hours/week)

Open gym is available for 5 on 5 full court pick up games. Bobcats staff will be present to monitor the games and offer individual instruction. This is a great opportunity for players to implement the skills they will be learning throughout the summer in a game situation.
